The Chicago Caribbean Carnival Organization celebrates and preserves Caribbean culture while fostering unity across the diverse communities of Chicagoland. Rooted in a global tradition that includes world-renowned Carnivals in Trinidad & Tobago and Brazil, Caribbean Carnival is a vibrant celebration of history, freedom, and cultural expression through colorful costume, dynamic dance, infectious music, and traditional Caribbean cuisine.
We are committed to engaging and educating youth and the broader community through these powerful traditions, while elevating the Caribbean Carnival experience in Chicago and its surrounding suburbs. Our annual celebration brings people together from around the world in the spirit of culture, creativity, and unity.
The Chicago Caribbean Carnival Parade & Festival takes place every third Saturday in August at Midway Plaisance, located on the University of Chicago campus. Set against a beautiful backdrop of Chicago’s downtown skyline, this family-friendly event welcomes people of all ages and from all walks of life.
Our vision is to educate, inspire and generate growth by providing opportunities for all to come together and celebrate the Caribbean Culture. With the help and support of our community, we will continue to inspire, create and expose participants and spectators to a one of a kind carnival experience!
Mission: To create and preserve the Caribbean culture of carnival in Chicago through community involvement, and developing a sustainable organization that promotes unity amongst all nationalities. We want expose our youth to the Caribbean culture through costumes, dance and music. So in the future they can pass down the tradition to many generations to come.
Our goal Is to continue to build, create and grow, A bigger and better event. A family friendly experience. Welcoming all cultures to join together as one.
